Taroudant and Tiou Oasis

Overview
Our excursion begins around 8:30 a.m. from your hotel. We drive between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountains into the beautiful Souss Valley, famous for its many citrus plantations.
Our first stop comes after about 30 minutes, where we can see goats climbing trees — the famous argan trees, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage and produce the precious argan oil.
After a short drive, you’ll have the opportunity to visit an orange plantation.
Soon, we reach the medieval city of Taroudant, founded in the 16th century and one of the oldest cities in Morocco. Here, we stroll through its romantic old alleys, soak in the oriental atmosphere, and watch local craftsmen at work during our visit to a traditional Berber market (souk).
Next, we take a scenic drive around the ancient city walls before visiting the Palais Salam, now used as a hotel. Inside, you’ll admire a blend of Arab and Andalusian mosaics and enjoy a walk through its botanical garden.
Around 12:30 p.m., we continue to the beautiful oasis of Tiout, made famous by the film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves”, which was shot here with the unforgettable French actor Fernandel.
In the small oasis village of Tiout, we enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch under date palms and orange trees, accompanied, of course, by a cup of “Moroccan whisky” — mint tea.
After lunch, you can explore the oasis on foot or on a donkey ride, taking in the unique landscape and peaceful atmosphere.
With unforgettable memories, we return to your hotel around 5:00 p.m.
